The owners of EYBL tailored interiors, Christian and Dagmar Reichel and daughter Chiara, come from a dynasty with around 200 years of family history in the home textiles and furnishings industry.
History
1825
As early as 1825, their ancestors began retailing and wholesaling textiles in Wels, and subsequently added textile processing and production of carpets and terry goods. The great-grandfather, KR Friedrich Reichel, had fabrics made, woven, dyed and printed to order. In the course of a buying trip to the Orient, he imported textiles and oriental carpets to Austria starting in 1902. After the Second World War, the first worsted fabrics were imported from England.
As a textile industrialist then produced the grandfather, Dkfm. Heinrich Reichel, in the Wels textile factory the first tufted carpets in Europe. In addition to fabrics, the weaving mill also wove plush and terry cloth. The grandfather also introduced the trade in antiques and carpets.
Chiara Reichel
NEXT generation
Chiara leads the interior design team and has successfully planned and implemented interior projects in the residential, office, hotel, hospitality and retail sectors.
She grew up in the company and was already at her parents’ side at design fairs and customer meetings as a child. After gaining experience in other companies and studying in London and Berlin, she went on to complete a Master’s degree at the Diplomatic Academy, which gave her an all-round education and a large international network.
Chiara especially enjoys direct customer contact and creating interior concepts that exceed expectations.
